Grow the game
We get it, you love the game. So do we. But Ice Hockey in the UK (and in Manchester too), is frustrating. The lack of choice of rinks, professional, semi-professional and amateur teams struggling to make ends meet and really provide the exciting spectacle that the sport can be. The game in the UK punches above its weight consistently. But for once, wouldn’t it be nice to have better facilities, less travelling, better access to the sport generally?
How do we do this? Well can help a little. Grow the game.
If you want Ice Hockey UK to grow and improve, the only thing we need to do is encourage more people to participate in all aspects of the game (and spend money).
Get a friend to come and watch a game (it doesn’t have to be the Storm), it can be lower leagues or a rec game. Play the game (at any level). Buy team’s merchandise. Get a friend or family member too do the same. Share teams social media posts and like them (hint hint). Introduce your friends that have never heard of the game to it.
Mo money no problems
Why does this help? Well lets be fair, money rules the world (at least our capitalist western world. The more potential and actual ‘customers’ that Ice Hockey UK has means that ultimately more people are will to invest in the UK. Those business’ and people with huge amounts of money will invest on the basis that there is a better chance of them making money from the game.
The bigger the market. The higher the investment. The higher the investment, the better time for us! It means better facilities, better spectator experiences, better tournaments, better leagues!
Get a friend involved.
