About the Manchester Storm
Manchester Storm used to be one of the top teams in the UK and played at the Manchester arena! They still hold their own and are great fun to watch, now playing in the more intimate (and intense) venue in Altrincham!
The Storm have a rivalry with the Yorkshire based, Sheffield Steelers from the other side of the pennines.
If you’re keen to learn more about the history of the team, check out the below website. We can’t recommend it more. If you’re interested in what many believe to have been the team’s hey day playing to sell out crowds in the Manchester arena, this is the place for you. It has a great retro logo and shirts page!
The Elite League
The Storm currently play in the top tier of Ice Hockey in the UK, which is the Elite League. Teams come from all over the UK and the league ends in a play off for the top spot.
Currently, the winning team will be invited to play in the Champions’ Hockey League (“CHL”), which is the equivalent to the Europa league or the Champions league in football (soccer). Due to this in the play offs, at the end of the season, the stakes are high.
We can’t stress enough that the best way to experience the Storm is to get down to Planet Ice at Altrincham and watch a game!
